ElevenLabs converts written material into spoken audio. Useful for read-alouds, review tracks, and language pronunciation when you want consistent narration without recording yourself every time.

What it is good for

  • Audio versions of chapter summaries, primary sources, or poetry
  • Pronunciation models for world-language vocabulary
  • Review tracks students can play while doing chores or commuting

Audio alone is not a full curriculum. Pair listening with reading, note-taking, or discussion so students still practice visual literacy and writing.

A practical workflow

  1. Choose text you already vetted — your own explanation, a public-domain passage, or a short study guide.
  2. Edit for the ear — shorter sentences, clear section breaks, pause points for questions.
  3. Generate speech in ElevenLabs, pick a voice, adjust rate, export MP3/WAV.
  4. Keep the transcript available so students can follow along or reread.
